Default How to enable Skins...

I've got the latest Wisbar Advance as well as Wisbar Advance Desktop. I can enable the desktop look by going to the plugin..but it looks really bad and i want to switch it to the ipod one.
I have tried movie the files to the WIsbar Advance Desktop directory in a folder called IPOD but it doesnt work..

Any idea on how to configure this etc?

You don't "enable" WAD themes. You have to create the theme yourself using the images supplied.

I'm in the same boat too :-(
And i'm not a pda neophite.
I've download many great themes on this board, i've the doubt that for many of them is it necessary not only to copy on pda but work hard to make them visible ...
I'm able only with some themes installed to have immediately a partial work 'out of the box' - the rest of them .... only doubt !
Any help for us beginners will be really appreciated !
A step by step guide .... please for the most mortals of us :-)
thanks

WAD skin are always not ready ? WAD skin are 'only' a package of icons and other stuff that end user need to customize, icon by icons ?
WAD skin can be edited with WAD.

WA skin instead are always ready to work ?
WA cannot be edited by WA or WAD.

Is it ALL correct ?

I'm trying to understand, step by step :-)
Sorry for the elementary questions ...

WAD themes are in fact an colliection of images that a designer provides. Most skinners design the theme to fit their own personal needs/wants then share the images with us all. We use their screen shots and any instructions that are given as a guide to setup out own themes. WAD is so user flexible that no two users would have the exact same setup. Installed apps would vary from user to user, so shortcuts would be different, etc... This make it a bit difficult to have an "out-of-the-box" theme. I always suggest to users to try creating their own themes anyhow (this is the best way to learn/understand WAD's capabilities).

WA2 themes are ready to use "out-of-the-box".

When i install WAD 1.2 or something i can enable it. It turns my desktop into different icons etc..totally different. I am asking how to chagne this into a Vista icon/ipod look. I have done that with Wisbar Advacne 2 with the toolbar...but cant seem to do it with Wisbar. And yes again there is NO step by step instruction..

Like Buzzard mentioned the best way is to get in and tap and hold and use the functions built into WAD to create and edit your own theme. Another good way is to download a WAD skin (set of graphics) specifically for your device, VGA versus QVGA and take a look at what others have done in their theme.

The theme you or some one else creates will have shortcuts to applications that are specific to your device and the directory location of files on their device, so unless you have all of the same apps and in the same directories many shortcuts will break.

Usually the only things that will stay in place an work from one device to another with the same theme are either items set up to switch virtual pages, hide/unhide docks, etc all within WAD and not a shortcut to another app.

Good luck!

Ok for WAD, normally someone will provide their images but you have to assemble them in an order that suits you. (Like legos they do not come already built) Sometimes the creator will provide their skin, which you can install to apply their images for you instantly. Still after that you must alter the properties of the shortcuts in order for it to be paths that are in your PPC. As for WA2 it comes with a default skin that you will definitely change when you see all the new ones. (WAD is a plugin in WA2)

Find a theme for WA2 then place the folder (Meaning the folder that has images no more folders within except sound and labeled WA2) within Program Files\Lakeridge\Wisbar Advance\Themes. You should see other folders in there also. Those are the default Skins. If you dont have them don't worry just install a new skin and everything is fine again. Toy around a bit with it, trust me it is not as hard as it seems just a bit tricky at times.

The WAD themes go in My Documents\Themes. Now this can be in another location only if you moved it or installed in memory card. In WAD tap and hold on your screen and a menu should pop up thats it add what you want from there.

If the artist does not provide a skin file just images you cannot see the theme in Theme manager. You can still add and remove images from their theme but it takes a while. Use My First NewB Qvga Skin. U4C-media provided you a link, that theme has a skin file to arrange the images for you.
